Tradução de Conceitos was founded in February 2010 by José Ruivo and currently has two in-house translators.

José Ruivo,
concluded a Degree equivalent to Bachelor of Arts in Translation at ISLA (Instituto Superior de Línguas e Administração, the Higher Institute of Languages and Administration) in 1991, and has been working as a freelance technical translator since 1991.

Ana Oliveira,
an in-house translator in the company, has a Degree and a Master Degree in Translation, and has been working with us since September 2010.

Cristina Ruivo,
has a Master of Sciences in Mathematics and taught at a leading technical university in Lisbon. She no longer teaches but now “does the maths”, and most of the secretarial work at Tradução de Conceitos.

Proofreading of existing translations, including quality assurance and test procedures, plus conversion between Brazilian and European Portuguese, in either direction.

Website localization

If you can’t be found on the web it is most probable that clients won’t contact you at all. If they do find you, it is best if they can read your message in their own language and be just as impressed. We can help you achieve this objective.

Glossary preparation

Preparation of glossaries for consistency in the terminology used (preferably approved by our clients) either prior to or during the translation process, for reviewing purposes and the assurance that the correct terms are used throughout the entire project.
